Privacy: what is recorded, and when
Nothing here needs an account. The pages set no cookies and carry no analytics or advertising code, and even the typefaces come from this domain. One action leaves a record: following an app or store button. Here is what happens in each case.
When you read a page
Pages are plain files delivered through Cloudflare, which hosts the site. Like any web host it receives the usual request details (IP address, browser, the page requested) to serve the page and stop abuse. We add nothing on top: no tracking pixel, no session ID, no third-party script.
When you answer a question
Answers are marked by a short script inside the page. Your choices, your score and the progress bar exist only in that open tab; nothing is sent anywhere, and reloading the page clears them. Clinical cases work the same way.
When you follow an app or store button
App and store buttons go through go.counselor-licensure-exam.com, a redirect we run. An iPhone or iPad continues to Apple's store, an Android device to the Play listing, and anything else to that exam's practice test here. Each time, it writes one row:
- which page sent you, which button and exam, the destination, and a timestamp;
- your browser's identification header (user-agent) and the platform, iOS, Android or other, inferred from it;
- your IP address, the autonomous system and company operating that address, and the approximate place that address points to, down to city and time zone;
- the code of the Cloudflare location that answered;
- the referrer header and any query parameters on the link.
The row holds no name, email or account, because the site never asks for one. With these rows we learn which articles lead counselors-in-training to an app, and we weed out crawler traffic. None of it is sold, and no ad network receives it. Rows have no fixed deletion date yet.
A campaign tag, not a personal one
Links into Apple's store carry a campaign tag and links into Google Play a referrer, both set to counselor-licensure-exam.com, so the app's publisher can see that an install came from this site. The tag is the same for everyone and says nothing about you. The stores' own privacy terms apply once you are there.
Leaving no row
If you would rather not create one, skip the buttons and search Apple's or Google's store for the exam's name. Since the site has no inbox, it cannot take deletion requests; not creating the row is the reliable option.
